We're BACK!

During the past two years, the Hearth has taken much needed time during the pandemic and after Beverly’s decision on Briscoe Middle School to pause, reassess, and think about how best to fulfill our mission. This turbulent time has taught us just how important it is to work together across differences to build systems of care, support, and communication. And what better way to do that than through the arts?

This January, the Hearth brought together over 100 women from Boston and Cape Town in Draw the Circle Wide, the sixth stage of The Mama Project. This annual collaborative art project creates inter-cultural, inter-racial, and inter-generational projects for women. It helps individuals to build confidence, communities to build trust, and people from different backgrounds to develop understanding and new relationships. This year, the women made art centering around healing, grief, and love to communally process the past four years.
