May Dinner, Art, + Music Night

Miranda’s May Dinner, Art, and Music Night was yet another smashing success. It was a featured event for Boston’s own Annual Art Week and highlighted the Hearth’s “What I Make” Project. There were a series of six speakers that began the evening speaking about one piece of their multifaceted life of art.

Robin Miller spoke about kombucha. The process of how to brew fermented tea and it potential benefits to the body’s digestive system with its probiotics.

Cory Allen Staats spoke about sound engineering and how its this process that makes a person, movie or music sound good.

Amy Beth Harrison explained how history and literature influences her art.

Nathan Chow talked about how he found himself a social outlet through juggling.

Rebecca D’Antonio talked about the art of throwing a themed dinner party. The process start to finish and how to make it happen.

Marika McCoola showed the story boarding process when making graphic novels. A behind the scenes process few ever get to see.

Also featured this evening was a new trading cards community art project where participants drew art on the face of a card and put their contact information on the back. Participants would then trade for the cards they liked and obtained the contact information of that artist for future use.

True to form the evening ended with it’s signature jam session and potluck dinner.
