Abby Butkus is the finance director at New Profit, a venture philanthropy firm, which invests capital and consulting services in order to scale early stage, high impact organizations. Prior to that, Abby spent three years working in Rwanda for One Acre Fund, an organization working to increase prosperity for rural, smallholder farmers. She held various positions, most recently as the Global Finance Operations Manager. Before that she worked as a researcher in Paris, France at CGAP, a financial inclusion think tank at the World Bank. Abby also completed General Electric’s financial management program.
Abby holds a Masters degree in International Development from the Intitut d’Etudes Politiques in France, and bachelors degrees in Accounting and International Business from Villanova University.
Abby loves traveling and connecting with different cultures. Despite adventures in 30 countries and almost 6 years abroad, she always knew her east coast roots would bring her back to the US. In her free time you can find her cooking up an international dish, starting a book club, or practicing French.
