Well my friends, Christmas is over. Presents have been given and received, gigantic meals were cooked and consumed, and families were reunited, if only for a little while.
This Christmas was different for me because my older sister (the blurry spot on the left of the computer screen in the picture) was in Japan. Below you can see her and her girlfriend on Skype, the laptop held in my mother’s lap. It wasn’t quite as good as having her home, but it was much better than any sort of communication you could have expected even just ten years ago.
And, if you can’t make it out, that is my sister’s girlfriend, brandishing a copy of Don’t Make Art, Just Make Something that I finally got to her. Because there’s no time like Christmas for my book to become an international phenomenon.
