What is your story?
Processed with VSCOcam with c1 presetDuring my childhood, I lived in a small town in Saudi Arabia where art was valueless to its people except for very limited traditional matters. Nonetheless, the little artist inside me insisted on finding a way to unleash its chi (power) into different art forms. It started with my appreciation of the stunningly beautiful Arabic Calligraphy when I was in my fourth grade where I joined after-hours classes to learn and practice it. That same year, I was lucky to receive my first desktop computer that I broke the very first night in a curious trial to figure out how it works; ultimately, the computer and Internet was, and still is, my third eye into the unlimited forms of art. At the age of 18, I moved from my little hometown to the city of Jeddah where art resources tempted me with amaze. So, I joined as many different on campus and online courses as I could including my undergraduate degree in Production Engineering and Mechanical Systems Design.

From my art timeline, I think the little artist inside me has been trying to tell me that “Art is not only in drawing, designing and/or making things, but in every single thing I simply do,” and I finally listened to him. Have you listened to yours?

What do you make?
I don’t know if this is a question to be asked to me, because every period of time I have a mania for something new. So, in brief, my obsessions in the past were Arabic calligraphy, drawing cars, designing mechanical parts, and graphic design on Photoshop. Currently, I have a mania for photography, photo-manipulation, and industrial design. Meanwhile, I miss some of my past obsessions and my brain is processing to mix ingredients of my past and current obsessions to bring a unique expressive art style.

How did you get involved in Miranda’s Hearth?

In June 2013, at an event where the sum of brilliant minds were gathering, at TEDxBoston, I had the pleasure to meet with Miranda Aisling, the founder of Miranda’s Hearth. An unforgettable conversation around a small table on a balcony with a view over the beautiful Boston Harbor fulfilled the hope that people like Miranda, Adwa AlDakheel, and Andy Hamilton still exist. So, when I afterward received an invitation to Miranda’s Hearth, I couldn’t not say YES! And since then, I have been attending Miranda’s Hearth Dinner, Art + Music nights, regularly with interest to see and help it grow, successfully.
