Beverly Artist Spotlight: January 2019

The Beverly Artist Spotlight is new exhibition series that features rotating six week shows highlighting a local, professional artist as well as a student artist from the Waring School. The exhibition is displayed at Waring Downtown at The Cabot, 286 Cabot Street, Beverly.

In our first exhibition, from January 17-February 18, 2019, our Student Spotlight is Sarah Malbeouf, a senior at the Waring School:

“I’ve been making art for my whole life but really honed my skills and vision here at Waring. I love portraiture and as a result, much of my work is centered around it. I also like experimenting with different materials, which often dictates how the subject is portrayed. I hope my work makes you pause, and take a closer look. ”
– Sarah Malbeouf

Alongside Sarah’s work hangs paintings by Hearth Founder, Miranda Aisling. In addition to running Miranda’s Hearth, Aisling is a professional abstract oil painter, the author of “Don’t Make Art, Just Make Something,” and the builder of Aubergine, the tiny house.

Aisling’s paintings focus on process, experimentation, and play. Her brightly colored canvases are rich in detail and thick with layers. She hopes that her work inspires you to pause, examine, and ask how it’s made.

Stop by Waring Downtown any day of the week to see the artwork in the window, or join Miranda’s Hearth for our weekly Hearth Community Night every Thursday from 6:00-8:00 pm.
