#WhatIMake Speaker Profile: Camille DeAngelis

Talk: Private Writing for Public Impact

When we talk about being an effective communicator, we’re talking about how we share our ideas with other people. But our success in communicating our vision depends upon how skilled we are at communicating with ourselves. Camille will share how her private writing supports the work she produces for publication, and how anyone can use a private writing practice to deal with creative blocks and release unproductive thought patterns, find joy and contentment in their work (regardless of external circumstances!), and figure out precisely how they want to grow—professionally and personally. Whether you’re an aspiring author, a working artist, or just want to learn how to share your ideas more effectively in the workplace, a private writing practice will deepen the meaning and impact of your work and your connection with everyone it touches. This presentation builds upon Camille’s forthcoming book on ego and creativity, and #WhatIMake Conference participants will have the opportunity to try out fun and specific strategies and exercises well in advance of the book’s publication.

In the workshop section, you’ll use the mind mapping technique paired with tailored writing prompts to exercise your intuition and create your own epiphany.
